The Disabled Population Focus Group will consider statistics on special education, disability needs assessment and U.S. Census data on disabilities.

Disabled Population Final Goals including all Strategies

Vision – Disabilities

Goal # 15Increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities by 20% over the next five years.  Strategies include:

  1. provide disability awareness training to employers;
  2. increase transportation opportunities for disabled citizens;
  3. data collection, job coaching, transitioning student focus and develop plan to meet child/adult & respite care;
  4. provide benefits counseling to SSI (Social Security Insurance) and SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) recipients.

Goal # 16 - Increase employment  supports for the guardians of people with a disability by 20% over the next five years.  Strategies include:

  1. Facilitate data collection and job coaching to gain information and create a plan for those who are responsible for respite care for children and adults.
