The Family Safety and Security Focus Group will look at information ranging from homelessness resources to domestic violence statistics and substance abuse trends.

Strategic Community Impact Plan

Family Safety and Security Final Goals including all Strategies

Vision – Family Safety and Security: Families will be stable and nurturing                                                                                             

Goal # 20 - Decrease the occurrence of domestic violence. Strategies include:

1.          increase the percentage of victims and perpetrators that complete comprehensive domestic violence program;

2.          provide funding for staff and programming to meet the increased demand for service for families;

3.          support the work of the local family violence council in its efforts to coordinate current and potential domestic violence interventions.  

Goal # 21 - Decrease the occurrence of child abuse and neglect /maltreatment.  Strategies include:

1.       create community awareness campaign that targets signs and symptoms of child maltreatment;

2.       strengthen coordination of existing child abuse and neglect /maltreatment intervention efforts;

3.       support, fund and implement programs and curricula that have evidence based outcomes.
